There are two rules in EMS.
#1. People die
#2. EMT's cannot always change rule #1

"... He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian.'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars,
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispian's day.'
Old men forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
Harry the King, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester-
Be in their flowing cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother..."

The life and times of a Rochester Lt.

To all of my great friends here on the nation, It has been a long leave leave of absence. I have been super busy here as of late.

Lets see, since I have last been on here, I have been putting in upwards of 65 - 70 hours a week at the Ambulance District, I have gotten certified in PEPP, I have taken the ICS 300 and 400 classes (as required for all officers), I have gotten certified as a Pyrotechnician's Assistant for the State of Ohio (I get to blow up professional fireworks now : ), I have been… Continue

My first close call (and hopefully last) of 2009 took place tonight at 20:15 hrs.

T S O in Cleveland OH... highly reccommend.

Trans Siberian Orchestra that is. I have never been to one of their shows before, until tonight that is. And all that I have to say, is just that, nothing... I am completely SPEECHLESS. If you have never been, this is by far the BEST light show, slash laser show, slash fire show that you will EVER see. Toss that in with a bunch of REALLY good music and whats not to like. And if you have seen them live, you know what I am talking about. I will definitely attending next year for sure.… Continue

Thank you for your kind words at my blog post Caleb.

To be honest I feel people are given what they have in this life and can make what ever they see fit with it. Some choose to make "lemonade" and others just pucker up and complain.
I truly feel it is a fear based reaction to someone they just do not understand as I do not follow the "beaten path" and have a way to find a possibility in any situation to "live and fight another day". I understand that this indeed puts some people off and they show me contempt but I honestly do not understand this crew of mine in Orleans.
