we are a combination department. Everyone is issued the same - Minitor 3 or 5 depending on what's available, and a Motorola XTS2500 800mhz handheld with lapel mic.

Word has it they are going to award approximately 100 grants, about $2.1 million apiece. Good luck to all that apply. Hopefully everyone will only ask for what they need and they can award more than 100.

I would join a department first. Then check with Chief about lights. Most departments I know don't allow new members to install lights/sirens until probationary period is over.
