yea. i dont blame you. i would stay a "leatherhead" as long as i could too. and stay away from all the paperwork.

but are you just a firefighter or do you have rank?

well I want to be a Fire Life and Safety Educator and all that but I am currently going to school for my teaching degree in Elementary Education and my General Education as well. So that way I can pretty much write my own paycheck when I teach at weekend schools for the fire service. =)

And the way I have it all planned out, is if teaching ends up being a dud for me or the economy doesn't pick back up in teaching jobs. I can always fall back on being a paid firefighter and possibly and EMT because I am starting those classes this fall. =)

Now do you want to stay a firefighter or perhaps move up to fire marshal or inspector or anything in that field?
At 12:23am on July 6, 2009, Jennifer Nance said…
well that's cool. =) so i take it you are making this your career?

haha next time you talk to her tell her you talked with her "step daughter" she will know who your talking about. =) i love her. she is a blessing at Camp Celebrate and in the fire service. she is pretty much my role model.

so what made you get into the fire service?
family or something you wanted to do?

You are right, if you only get the bourkes. If you read my comment completely, you would see that I said this: "I advise you to get the defender eye shield. since that's hidden, you can get bourkes on the helmet and be nfpa compliant, if you like ...

This is disturbing news Ted! Our departments funds are watched over like a hawk. Monthly reports are available to all the members and to the public.Backed up on disk, treasure is bonded, and a CPA also keeps accountability. The Chief has a budget ...
