I believe that God laid it on my heart to be a chaplain. I was talking with a family member about the dept. and how it would/could help to have a dept. chaplain. Probably a month went by and I was approached by the Chief and Dep. Chief about this ...

If this is a combined dept then i would start with the chain of command to include the city council with your complaints and worries, when this goes unanswered then I would leave the dept and the community since it is obvious that the chief office...

YES!!! in our dept, the officers will encourage us to go to our neighbors and train with them since we work together on a lot of calls. But you must get their permission and also approve it with the other dept. I have even stopped down at the KCMO...

We just have radios issued to us, I was carrying a Ritron Patriot (which truly is ff proof). We also have some Icon's but I'm not sure what the model is, and last January the officers all got new Icons (I think) that have so many bells and whistle...

Thanks,
We are not so different we only have 310 in our town. We hope to start getting grant money. We would like to start a SCBA trailer or van to refill bottles at the scene. I like your music. I was raised on it.

Hey man sorry it took so long to write back. Wackenhut has nice "city" equipemnt not to good for the rough roads and places here but it works. Depending where you go you ownt see much fire anyway. Specially now days that they have been fixing the horrbile wiring problems. That was the big fire starter back in 06-07 when i was here before. basiclly these days are now INSPECTIONS INSPECTIONS and AUDITS. So lots o fpaper work and walking around checking smoke detectors and basic housekeeping and wiring issues. Its not bad at all and the money is great! Our company has a great record of keeping their guys safe here. So ur wife has nothing to worry about really. You live and work on a secure military base.

Our new "baby" should be delivered on Friday. It's a little to cold now for a wetdown so we will have to wait until the water won't freeze solid.

The Quarter auction is at home business vendors that set up and people bid on your items. The highest amount they bid is .75 for an item worth $75.00 or more. Then they pull a number out of the bucket and you bid and it is your number it is your item. Usually a crowd of 200 people and with all the people bidding it is a great money maker. If you would like more info let me know

I didn't read all of the posts, but I would recomend both. The weight is insufficent to make any real difference. The only other thing I would say with a helmet light is if you are on say an MVA and have to talk to anyone you will be blinding them...
