Firefighters Gloves

A Firefighters Gloves hold many things
From elderly arms to a kids broken swing
From the hands they shake and the backs they pat
To the tiny claw marks of another treed cat
At 2 am they are filled with chrome
From the DWI who was on her way home
And the equipment they use to roll back the dash
From the family of 6 she involved in the crash

The brush rakes in spring, wear the palms out
When the wind does a “90” to fill them with doubt
The thumb of the glove wipes the sweat from the brow

Ready to Answer the Call

The life of a Volunteer FireFighter is something
That most Americans will never understand
To them we are represented by bingos and carnivals
Just another typical small town, woman and man.

Volunteer firefighters start with a willing heart
Giving their dedication and time to you.
The reasons that they state for serving their towns
Vary from helping their residents to just something to do.

Does it really matter why they volunteer
When you place that call for help?
The last thing you will think… Continue

Hello Becky, its been goin good over here. How is Strang, OK? Seen Trish just the other night in Homeland at Pryor. Good to see she's doin well after her fight with a carport post. Had many calls lately? If it ever quits rainin, we're all geared up for some grass fires. Seems to be their bread and butter over here on these praries in Rogers Co. But I'm so glad I don't live in southern California!

Hey!

My name is Amanda and I am trying to figure out what products are best for female firefighters. I have worked as a firefighter for only three years so I am just getting started. Currently I am a student at Eastern Kentucky University in in the Fire & Safety Engineering Technology Program. Although I have only been a firefighter for two years I have had my fair share of small gloves that were still too big and pants that went up to my belly button! I was wondering if you could take the time out of your busy schedule to share some of your favorite/best fitting/most functional products for female firefighters. Weather it’s an awesome fitting pair of pants, A polo shirt that has sleeves that do not go down to your elbows, a pair of great gloves, or boots that have an awesome fit. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share your opinions with me. Thank you very much. Please feel free to e-mail me back at amanda_cherry4@eku.edu or leave me a comment.

Stay Safe,
Amanda Cherry

Hi Becky, I joined this group to share our incredible wellness story with everyone. I helped my husband get well (and saved his life) and I got healthier, also. Many of our men and many of us need to get healthier. If you’re interested in more information about this life changing program please send me an email at: wellness2390@aol.com Thanks, Jan
