Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
My passion to help others. Giving all of myself and more to those who cannot help themselves. Compassion where there is little, to try to save a life where life looks down upon you..to hold the hand of one alone, agonal breaths, to go to rest with someone by their side, to mourn for them when there is no one else to mourn for them. To help each person with every ounce of my being, to try to just give one more day.
Relationship Status:
Separated
Department Type:

About Me:
Currently work full-time as a vascular surgical assist and office manager for general/vascular surgeon in Joliet. I attend both Joliet Junior and Prairie State for Fire 2 and applied for Medic school at Ingalls for fall. Getting my rescue diving cert over the summer and possibly going to either Kuwait or Iraq in an EMT capacity under contract for short term civilian responder. I am looking to get involved in Tactical EMS as well. That is where I would love to end up in eventually.
Day Job:
Vascular Surgical Assistant and Office Manager
Side Jobs or Other Organizations:
German Shepherd Rescue of Northern Illinois - Board Member and Intake/Assessment Coordinator.
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
I have dedicated my entire life to serving/taking care of others.

Good luck in the medic class. I`m about halfway thru mine. I left EMS 21 years ago. (pay sucked and wife at the time hated my job).......lol.....They can teach an old dog new tricks. I`m living proof. I`m back on the job for over a year now and loving every minute of it. Study, study and study some more. Pathopysiology about killed me. Cardiology got easier as I revisited the material over and over again....lol....These dang "kids" (medics) I work with are younger than my own kids.......sigh.....And so much smarter than I ever thought I was.

This is still improper. Nozzle man needs to get that line out in front of him for better movement and ease of control. Otherwise he is just fighting the hose and not letting the hose work.
