This is the most ridiculous thing. Coming from a cop I am not surprised...if you can't take the heat become a cop. So they got their man, are they elitists? This was not only a condescending act but also a flagrant disregards for firefighters safe...

Profile Information

Hometown:
BostonvMA, Santa Barbara CA, Melbourne FL
I Live: (City, State)
North Plainfield NJ
Years in Fire/EMS:
6
Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
Initially for the excitment of saving others and serving the community. When I was 12 y.o I witnessed SWAT operations for a hostile hostage (William Cruise) situation in Palm Bay, FL (killed 2 local police officers). I remember thinking as my Mom and I were serving the Medics and FF's, standing by, coffee (Literally in our front yard), watching the SWAT team land on the bank and repell down the side of the bank, infront of our house, "That's what I wanna do when I grow up!". LOL
But also being raised in the valley in California. I remember numerous evacuations of our neighborhood for fires fueled by the San Andreas winds coming down the valley. Both of which professions intrigued me so I decided to follow it. I didn't agree with a lot of the politics of the State Police, hence why I followed my first choice once accepted into the Fire Academy.

About Me:
Started the Police Academy for the Massachusetts State Police in early 1996--soon after gained acceptance to the Fire Academy. Proceeded to discontinue the Police Academy, and go straight through the Fire Academy. Graduating 8th in my class, leaving the Dept in 99 for a job related injury and losing my fiance in the Line of Duty in Worcester MA
Day Job:
Senior Consultant for a large east coast expidited delivery company
Side Jobs or Other Organizations:
Consultant to many, Pain in the ass to others, Waitress/Bartender, Chef, Business Development Professional
Personal Site/Profile:
http://www.myspace.com/bahstunlassy
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of interdepartmental communication, in regards to experiences in the field and continued training in progress through-out career. If we were to make all information regarding incidents involving a LODD, or near miss's it would save lives! Learn from our Brothers and Sisters mistakes!!!!!!!!!!
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
THE RUSH of running in while everyone else is running out...oh and one more thing...gotta love that smell!!!!

Pardon Me!

Pardon Me!

Pardon Me,
I’m 30 something and slightly jaded.

I profess only to confess
My lack of tolerance
For your dismay

Don’t need another trendy pair of jeans
Only to end up faded

Pardon me,
Will you rock my soul?
Make me wanna flock to your show?

I want tit for tat
And this & that

Unlike most,
I pave my own way
So I deserve that and this

So pardon me,
If you think I’m cocky
But I don’t need you to help me feel hearty

The last gig took my all
Essentially, making it harder for ya'l… Continue

Where can I find a description of construction types? Are there any self study course available on building construction, and indicators of construction types?

True Story... We had a guy; Chuck, who was a designated Engineer. He would get stuck behind his neighbor at times while responding to an emergency. (We all respond to the station and roll with a crew on the truck) Well his neighbor never pulled o...
