Hey Austin,
Thanks for the add. Wanted to let you know that I am not only a Lt. w/Alplaus FD located in the town of Glenville, but I'm also the Capital District Logistics Coordinator with an organization called Hancock Hope. You have read about us in the November 2007 issue of FASNY magazine. Anyways I'd like you to check out the web page, and become apart of the group at least on the FFN network. And who know's if your interested in being a part of the ERT-->Emergency Response Team I'd love to talk more. We're always looking for volunteers to go on deployments. What I'll do it end this message and then prolly send you another one because I forgot to cut n paste the link to both HH's web site and the FFN Grp site.
Thanks and good to see you on FFN,
Scott "Runx" Runkel

Austin, Welcome to the FF Nation. I am glad you dropped in to join the group. Dont be shy. There is lots to do, read and be involved with. Your participation and involvement is important to us all. Takes a bit to kinda figure it all out but you will be glad you did. Have fun and look around.

I was taught that you advance an uncharged line up a ladder draped over your shoulder with the nozzle on your back. That way if the line is accidentally charged, it will force you into the ladder and not off. I see no dangers to advancing an uncha...
