Body Found After Fire in NYC Subway Room

Fire was in a old relay room at the 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue subway station.

NEW YORK (AP) — Firefighters discovered the body of a man after extinguishing a fire inside an abandoned room of a New York City subway station.

Authorities say the fire at the 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue subway station was confined to the old relay room.

It was reported at 9 p.m. Sunday.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Fire marshals are investigation the cause of the fire.

Police say no criminality is suspected at this time.
