- I just put on one forum about treaching citizens how to handle emergencies. Form a CERT or Fire Corps unit in your department. Let these groups help draw interest for your department as one way.

Well I have attended a few siminars during the Maryland State Firemen's Convention about how to get the public interested in your dept.
Some say sell your dept meaning do what it takes to put your dept out there like news articles in the newspaper or on local TV. Just some ideas.
