Hello,

I have seen on fire engineering a product in a video about vehicle extraction too let out the air from tires. It is a small pin but i don`t know the name of it.
Is there anyone who can tell me what the name is of this articlke and where i can buy these.

In the netherlands we turn the ventils out of the tire but that costs just time.

With kind regards,
Martijn

You can quickly remove the valve stem from inside inflating component of the tyre, if that's what you're talking about?

It takes about 10 seconds.

The ones I use screw onto the stem, and the air comes out, settling the car gently onto your stepchocks. Got them out of a 4-wheel-drive magazine. 4WD owners use them for airing down their tires for traction.

I've seen the video that your talking about and it looks like they are using tire air chuck with a male air hose end on the chuck that you can buy at any hardware store. The best and fastest way to flaten a tire is to take out the valve stem or to just take a pair of pliers to pull the hole stem out of the wheel.

After seeing the video I might make a set of my own to use looks like a great way to do things.

Hope this was of some help to you

It's easy to make your own valve stem tool, and it's nearly free.
Joe Woodman invented this tool over 10 years ago.
It's a piece of 3/8-inch diameter electric conduit made from light-guage steel.
The section is about 8 or 9 inches long.

Simple smash one end flat in a vise.

The open end slides over the valve stem, and the tool is long enough to give you the leverage to simply pop the valve stem out. The flat end is a prying tool to remove hubcaps if they're in the way.

I usually just yank the whole stem with my channel-lock 88 rescue tool. You wont make any friends with the towing company, but it is by fat the fastest way to flatten a tire and settle a car onto your step chalks.

You rip 'em out of a TT unit, you expose yourself to injury PLUS you make the vehicle impossible(in many cases)to TOW afterwards,Be smart, take out the valve inserts. Doesn't take any longer than pulling the stem(or at least not much)and makes road clearance MUCH faster which keeps LE happy

Try ripping the stem out when the vehicle has a tire pressure monitoring system....
