Has anyone read or used this book. I was wondering if the content is applicable to a small volunteer department. Any comments or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I can't post a link, but if you go to Amazon.com and search Volunteer Training Officer's Handbook you should find it. The author is Eddie Buchanan.

I've got the book. And yes, the content is applicable to a small volunteer department. It is published by Fire Engineering. Go to www.fireengineeringbooks.com

Yes, I have this book and believe that it can very helpful to the small dept. I used it quite often when I would lead my company in company training activities. It covers a large topic base and gives you a idea of how long it takes to prepare and execute each drill. Also shows how to prepare and what items you will need. Great resource!
