I am trying a different approach to getting my firefighters to participate more in training. I am thinking of awarding the firefighter with the most training hours in a year with an award. I want to keep it inexpensive but not "cheap." Has anyone else done this? If so, what award(s) are there? Any comments would be appreciated.

We offer the Firefighters Training Certificates, signed and dated by the Training Officer for all of the training that they have done throughout the year. They appreciate them, if I miss something they certainly tell me and I add it to their records. It gives them a sense of accomplishment and I can put a copy on their files so I know exactly what they have done.
