Ok guys, I would love to meet a cute and available single firefighter. I am a single lady with a great career and pretty awesome life. Just missing that one great guy. I need some suggestions.

Hello Marianne,
You know there are many guys who say the very same thing. Now dont get me wrong or take this the wrong way but when many of us guys attempt to get to know a woman something always seems to happen. Women say "Oh, I want to have a long term relationship". I actually moved my whole life from New Jersey to Michigan for a woman whom I met online. Six years later she dumped me because she "found someone else online who lives in California". I am stuck here in this frozen tundra and I hate it. Honestly and truly, I never cheated, (I know that she did), I was always giving, (I know she wasnt), I reshaped my life for her, (she just totally screwed me).
I would love to meet someone and settle down, there just arent any women left for us "good guys"!

Hi Harry,

I am really sorry to hear that your last relationship didn't go as expected. When you invest a lot of time and energy into a relationship and it falls apart it really hurts, especially if you uprooted your entire life. I do feel for you being in the frozen tundra..brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....kind of a warm sunshine girl myself :-)
I have also had a romance or two gone wrong but I try to learn from the experience and move on with an open heart...not always easy to do. I do have to stop and catch myself sometimes from putting up those walls.
I would like to be your friend, even if you are wayyyyy up north :-)
Thanks for taking the time to send me your thoughts.

Marianne

Also there is the ever present problem for those of us in this line of work finding someone who can tolerate our schedules. Long shifts, unpredictable tone drops, being on scenes for as long as a "normal" shift... those people are far and few between.

Of course I always drive safely and utilize Due Regard. That's why I didn't just hop in front of the cars hoping that they would stop for me. It just irks me that people are either A.) THAT oblivious when operating a motor vehicle, or B.) That unc...

The incident hindered my response by a minute or so which could make all of the difference. In this instance - no, I still made the rig (it was an EMS call). However, the "What If" factor plays a key role - the other drivers passing me didn't know...

This is true. It's personally happened to me, I've heard horror stories about it, and someone I work with has even stated that she purposely does this as well. However, if it were her house on fire, or her husband and/or children that needed help,...
