Dave...........LOL........Man, gotta love `um. He actually asked where she went? We had a rescue last night, an obvious DOA. Cancer throughout and hospice. On of our rescue members was like......do we do anything?? The family doesn`t want us to but they can`t produced a DNR.

The poor old timer was riggy, jaw, arms fingers. I told him, nah, lets just wait till the alpha car gets here. If they want us to then, we will. At that point our job is do what`s right for the family, cause pops had long since passed. Starting any resusitation would have gotten us jacked up by all the family anyhow.

I went to a room and contents fire, as we were overhauling we noticed a piece of cardboard on the wall and on that cardboard was writing that stated the house rules, 2 ladies lived there can't recall if they were sisters or not. But it went something like this we don't have a lot of money so we don't need any gucci jeans and such no name will do we don't need any lobsters and such fishsticks will do. we don't need anyoff that drama of cheating any man that won't stay true doesn't belong with us, it went on and on it was funny I wanted to snap a picture of it but never got the chance we were all laughing after reading it.

I have one I started working EMS with a new partner very nice guy just not very common sense smart he was the paramedic and I was the EMT. We gaot a call for a cardiac arrest upon arrival the daughter met us outside and stated "she has left" at which time my partner said "where did she go" and my job dropped, she then said "she is gone" and he said "yes but where to" I quickly picked up my jaw after finding it and told him 10-7 which meant she has died, and he said oHHH okay well we need to check her. i just shook my head.

Last week we had a medic student riding along. This young man is in the medic class with me but doesn`t have any real seat time working a car. We had a run to the home of a 83 yr old female that was stuck in her bathtub. Her caregiver was unable to get her out and the pt slid towards the drain and was all crumpled up. Poor thinhg was blind and scared. So, we walk up the front steps of a nice looking house (on the outside) in a semi-rural area. The door opens and the smell hit him like a ton of bricks. BIG eyes looked at me as if to ask.......WTF?!?!......LOL....The smell wasn`t very bad at all, just pet pee & old lady. So the medic does a quick once over to make sure our gal didn`t have any injuries and turned the "rescue" over to our student and myself. Now, this old gal was a 5x5......5 tall & 5 wide. The student`s eyes got even bigger when I told him to take the legs and I`d climb into the tub with her. We ended up using a Montana blanket roll to lift her so we didn`t harm her in any way.

I guess the humor in all of this was the look on his face at each step in the process. Walking in the door of a stranger`s home, the smell, standing in a person`s bathroom while they were in the tub, seeing a naked 83 yr old lady, seeing MY fatass in the tub with her then watching me play with her pet bulldog while the paramedic & the student did another assessment after she was out of the tub and back in her livingroom.

Welcome to the real world Jake!!

Just responded to a call on friday afternoon for a 52yo c/c of an O/D. After holding off and free to move in when PD secured the scene. This same person tells us she was trying to kill herself by smoking crack cocaine. I asked her how much crack had she smoked and she said $600 worth over the last 48 hrs., but she said hadn't smoked any in the last 10hrs. All vitals were in normal limits. Her c/c now was abd. pain. and I asked her when she was going to grow up! OMG give me a break! LOL.

Just responded to an 80 y/o F, c/o itching on her stomach from burn scars from her child hood. She wanted us to take her to the hospital because she did not have a car to take herself. We kindly explained that our ambulance is not a taxi service and that she needed to find a neighbor to take her to the dr.

Why does'nt the fire chief look out the window in the morning ?

Then he/she would'nt have anything to do in the afternoon.
