Here is the problem with this whole thing. Paid EMS in PA sucks there is no ifs and or buts about it. I used to work full time as a paid EMT in Wayne County PA. My wage was 7.50 an hour. I'm sorry but if you want someone to support their family on 7.50 an hour then your nuts. I'm mean i'm fresh out of high school and The pay wasn't bad while i go to college, but if a person is really depending on that money for their family they are nuts. I bet right now your saying ya because he was a EMT-B nope the medics only started at 11 an hour. Trust me I looked into going into being a medic. The pay sux the job rocks, but i don't feel like working 4 jobs and every hour of the week to provide for my family when i have one. Understand. Some parts of PA may be different, but things need to change if you want that to happen. People now-a-days look at the money that they are going to be earning for their service. With everything going up its not worth it at all.
