When the departments around us with red trucks start on us, we just tell 'em that they're jealous because the fire's not afraid of their red trucks. But when the yellow trucks show up, the fire goes out!

LOL that's good, Lee. We always tell them to take history lesson about the first fire truck. Ben Franklin built the first one, and painted it blue to symbalize water. (true story) Plus we just think they look sharp, and everyone knows when Hydetown shows up on scene.

Yea, but yours show up better than theirs! Nothing wrong with yellow. Around here, everyone calls the yellow trucks, Penn Dot trucks. I've heard guys say,"they all jump out with shovels, and stop signs". Of course, they have a sence of humor about it. Just fun you know. Stay safe brother.

Ya how did red become the usual color? I have heard that NFPA tried to force all fire apparatus to be lime green back in the 70's. That would be kinda booring. lol

Most don't like the color of the fire trucks in the City of Monessen PA. I don't remember any comments about the color but Monessen only had one red fire truck and they still have it. It's a 1915 Seagrave pumper/chemical truck.
Ever since the next truck after the 1915 which is a 1923 Seagrave pumper truck, every fire truck in the city was Croeden Cream.
