Comment by Emily Potesta on November 18, 2009 at 3:28pm - in high school everyone just called me 'ems' and when i joined up at the station they all asked what i wanted to be called. i said just emily and a couple of our guys said theyd never remember me so i said my nickname was ems and they flipped out and thought it was awesome because of the whole acronym thing. ive also gotten used to : hey you and rookie (from the guys at the squad) and daughter (from my lieutenant and my older best friend who are my 'parents' at station.)

Comment by KimiAnn Corey on October 30, 2009 at 2:33pm - im a rookie at my fd. but ive been around all the guys at the station about all my life and i have more certifications than alot of the vets. so some of my buddies at the station call me "chief" obvisiouly im not but its just funny. and im also a woman. and they joke about how the women are always in charge so it just added on to the joke.

Got hollywood from my best friend aj. st my first fire house. An the other on come from my fire chief at the station i'm with now. hollywood was given to me cause i would wear sun glasses all the time. Concrete can from my first fire body wanted to go but feet didnt. so thats where they can from.
