Attention NYS 20th Congressional District! Special Election announced! (Why you SHOULD care!!)

On March 31st residents of New York's 20th Congressional District will be heading to the polls for a special election. Why is this so important?

Former Congresswoman (now Senator) Gillibrand was a strong supporter and friend to emergency services, especially volunteers. Whether you are Republican or Democrat you cannot deny her efforts in pushing for tax breaks for emergency volunteers, grant workshops, and grant assistance to any needy department.

So what do the two new candidates feel about emergency services? Are the as committed to the cause? Do they understand our needs? Do they realize that we are constantly being asked to do more with less? Do they realize it is becoming harder to recruit and retain new members? Do they know we are here at all?

I encourage every resident of this district to learn more about James Tedisco (R) and Scott Murphy (D). Contact them and ask the questions relevant to our predicaments.
