I'm rather partial to The Wolfetones, but there are tons that come in a very close second. I'm also a fan of the current genre of Celtic rock and punk. Check out www.paddyrock.com for band listings and a new web based radio show every month. Oh...I'm also a fan of Darby O'Gill And The Little People out of Las Vegas. They have some...uh...interesting takes on the old favorites as well as some great originals. I would not recomend them for little ears however.

One of the best things about "celtic music " Barry is its diversity these days from, as irons mentioned, the celtic rock,/ Punk venue groups like Flogging Molly to the more tradtional like the Chietains, Wolftones , to the new generation of traditionalists Like celtic women.. something for everyones taste.. One aspect of the American/Celtic tradition that we may not even "like to admit" That should be embraced more check this out...

Earl Scruggs & The Chieftains

I love it all! Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys to the Chieftains, then there's the WOlfetones and Gaelic Storm, the Celtic Women and the Irish Tenors, and add to that all my traditional bar songs and the instrumental stuff, I'm celebrating it all year 'round! And, I hate to admit it, but I have to throw in bagpipes with the bodhrans. What can I say?

Clannad, Gaelic Storm, Kate Rusby, Connie Dover, Loreena McKenitt, Enya and many more, look for a song by Gaelic Storm called "Johnny Tarr", I found it on limewire, good music....
