Ray is currently the chief of the Topinabee (Michigan) Fire Department as well as a retired battalion chief from the 4th Battalion of the Chicago Fire Department. Before his retirement, Ray was and still is a field instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute as well as being an independent instructor. Backdraft is an awesome movie even though it is a little far fetched in most parts. Ladder 49 is also a great movie that is more realistic. Both are #1 in my opinion, I'd rent, or better yet buy, both and get it over with.
