Pump rebuild

I would try to find a Pierce dealer/representative first. Just speaking from experience, my dept. has tried to go the cheaper route in the past and have some no name shop build/ repair our trucks... never works out good. We had our new rescue built in Dec 07. The work was done by a smaller shop and even though the truck came out looking bad ass, we have had alot of problems with it since putting it into service in 08. I'm talking ALOT of problems, mainly electrical issues with geneartors and lights but some mechanical problems as well. If you can find someone in your area that is a pump mech. then that would be the keapest way for you to go and if they know what they are doing then it should be fine. My department just had to take or pumper apart and we did the work or selfs on rebuilding the pumps because we have 4 people that have been to a pump class for fire trucks on maint. and repair on them.
