OBAMA SLASHES AFG - SAFER FUNDING EXPLODES

In the world of politics those who don't know anything rule. In a stroke of a pen the total amount set aside for the AFG in fiscal year 2010 will be slashed by approx. 55% SAFER however is to recieve approx. 100% increase for the same year , what gives ? Does the politicos hate volunteer firefighters that much? As most know AFG can be used by any fire dept in the country that qualifies , but the SAFER grant is geared toward full time fire dept's to try to keep them manned at "minimum" levels. Nothing against full time dept's but they have a hell of a lot bigger tax base to get their local funds from than any combo or volly dept. I hope our government, in it's rush for "change" doesn't leave us with just that for our grants.
