Cabelas is now open in East Hartford, CT. That's where I bought my bow this month. I must give kudos to their archery shop, they helped me out loads! Its easy to get to, just off I-84. I want to take some more time and look around in the other dept's (I should leave the card at home, I could get in BIG trouble!)(use cash instead:-))!)

Next time you guys go to cabelas make sure you have your fire ID. i went there last week and they were having a hometown hero discount. im not sure how much the discount was, but with my new card my 15 cabelas dollars our regular price was like 70 something dollars. we ended up paying like 8 dollars for everything. i went to the one in hazelwood(outside of st louis) MO. they might of had it there only but it doesnt hurt to check. i was lucky enough to have my department shirt on and a new fire hat i had just bought. the cashier told me about the discount. i just hit it lucky.

also i agree cabelas can get you in trouble. i was fortunate my kids were being bad so i didnt get the chance to look as much as i would of liked.

happy hunting

Cabela's is one of the fire services friends. They are not bashful on promoting the emergency services, nor extending their discount programs. There are a lot of special offers available to the nations emergency services and military, all you have to do is ask. I have gotten into aquariums, zoo's, movies for free, and received hundreds of dollars in instant rebates for some retail items bought in the past 5 years alone.

Go on their websites - they have a great listing of rifles and hard to find collectibles(?) - Yes, many are over-priced - but they have great pic's and it can also be used as a referrence when trying to identify items. Their stores are outdoorsmens/womens dreams!

Cabelas is great. The best thing is they stick by their 100% satisfaction promise. I had a pair of chest waders that had a blown out seam. I sent them back and got a new pair in return. I wore that pair a few times and the same thing happened. Cabelas took them back and let me exchange them for a new pair of a different brand. They will do anything (within reason) to make the customer happy.

Who would think 2 brothers selling fishing flies out of the basement would make it that big. I wish them the best of luck.
