James WTF does my question have to do with your service??? "it seems that in the USA the real Image of being a fireman is still alive" Is that a bash???? Are you sayn the way we fight fire is wrong?? How am I being a ASS??? Its a YES/NO question. It seems like YOU James have a problem with the American Fire Service!!

I have NO problem with South Africa! I wish you brothers and sisters the best in what you do!

Dear Jurie it is quite sad that because the Department you work for or in fact most fire departments in South Africa are lacking in up to date equipment and training methods doesn't really give insight as to why you are not proud to be a South African. If you think that better training and better equipment makes you a better person then you need to get better qualified and leave to a better country. I am 47 years young and enjoy every turnout i go on even if our equipment is old and starting to give in.This job is a calling not an excuse for a living.Your only goal should be to SAVE LIVES,PROTECT PROPERTY AND DELIVER HUMANITARIAN SERVICES.

I still call it that...a rose is a rose... I also shorten the pre-rigged block and tackle by doing the same "daisy chain" it makes it a lot easier to handle and keeps it tangle free.
