In September , my department will be holding "physical agility" tests for all members ,for the first time in the 25 years I've been there . I am working under my 4th Chief and he is really doing the fire service some good in our service area .
We have been told to expect to be doing the FF Combat challenge evolutions ,wearing an SCBA , but we will be off air .
I am going to the annual Tennessee Ultimate Firefighter (TUFF) challenge at our State Fire training Accadamy as well in September - it is also comparable to the FF combat challenge ,with the exception that you are not on air during the evolutions . I look forward to them both , to prove to some our younger firefighters and be acknowledged that I may be an "old Dogg" as my nick name implies ,but I can still "hang" with the Big Dogs !
