I am now a Captain after only 8 years in my department which is almost unheard of so I face a lot of discriminatory things as well. I usually make my probies do the "grunt" work such as if there is a function to where citizens will be in and out of bay I leave them out there to meet and greet, but as far as cleaning and daily duties I assign a "watch" person but we all clean together and train together. We rotate out who cooks unless someone just wants to cook. Stand your ground - don't let anyone push you around or belittle you. I'd talk to other newbies and see what is expected of them to see if it's comparable to how you're being treated. Hope it helps.

Kim,
Would like to let you know that in my dept and company that it is always the rookie's job to do the cleaning. And all rookies do it male and female alike. It is merely a tradition. When the new rookie comes you will no longer be the rookie and you will no longer be the person doing the cleaning or at least that is the way that it should be.
