Well, I'll ask the obvious question. What type engine or truck do you drive or operate.

Well my primary pumper is a 1973 Ford F-750 Western States. 1,000 gpm, 750 gallons of water. It's got Ford's 391 gas V-8 and a 5 speed. Ugh, trying to get rid of it.

Otherwise I can drive any of the other apparatus in the fleet. That is between the 2 agencies I volunteer for.

I am checked out and know how to operate anything from a small brush truck to my departments 95ft aerial truck. I am currently certified to operate a 72 mack pumper, 84 sutphen pumper, 92 ford/smeal pumper, 98 freightliner/toyne pumper, 08 spartan/smeal pumper, 87 e-one 80' stick and 02 sutphen 95'aerial platform. These are just the city trucks we have, I am also qualified on all of our rural trucks 2 pumpers, 3 tenders, and 4 grass rig/brush trucks. I also run our heavy rescue, and our 4 admin vehicles. Everything from pre-electronic to fully automated, midship and crossmount. Lots of different things to remember. Also have 22 la-france, 29 la-france, 48 mack, and 55 mack pumpers for parades and funerals. Lot of trucks for a department in the middle of no-where.

I'm just starting out at driving, so I'm limited to our squad for now. It's a 2008 GMC 5500 Top-Kick 4x4 crew cab with a Palmetto rescue/mini pumper body. In addition to rescue & EMS duties, this truck has a 750 GPM Hale pump and a Darley Fast-Foam unit.

We run a pair of HME 1871 chassis pumpers. The one on the left is an '06 and the other is a '98. For now, I'm limited to the GMC on the left or, if we're really short on guys, the tanker.
