Hey Guys-

So I am not THAT self centered... Being and engine guy myself I need those truckies more than anybody or I will fry, However after seeing the "Cancel the Engine" group, I thought a similarly witty group was needed for the guys that go in hot and leave 'em wet.

Feel free to leave anything here Engine Company related: training, SOPs, stories, pics etc. Be proud that you carry a big hose.

I dunno Bill In thirty years doing this stuff as a vollie and as a career guy I've spent a couple of them on trucks though the majority has been on engines and I gotta be honest, I never used a "ladder" to beat a fireout, But just about any other senerio you can imagine I have done, knocking down a matteress or couch with a watercan, so we could chuck it out the 7th floor balcony or window, yes I've even walked a half mile out on the breakwater to a fire at the lighthouse, and urinated to put the fire out (NO overhaul....) and had that not done the job, we'd have used a bucket washed up on the breakwater,,
and seawater... The Capt, said, Good thinkin... ..lol

Now when you need to go somewhere without a ladder, or be shown the way to the fire just ask Rescue. lol. That's why we have the big truck with all the cool toys in it. "We got your back."

Over here, we do the best of both... so I guess I'm a "Pipe-man" and "Truckie" all in one! "Truckie-pipe-man" ;)

As Captain Kennedy (John Travolta) would say: "Oh, geez. What the hell do you want to do that for? You're an engine man. Truck's a whole different thing. No water between you and the fire, no hose to lead you out if you get lost in the smoke. Not a good idea. "
