There was a television show on many years ago prior to EMERGENCY and it too was about L.A. County Firemen who were rescuemen on a Rescue Squad, That show was called RESCUE 8
The show didn't have a long run but it began in the early 1960's. and basically featured the rescues performed by 2 rescue firefighters assigned to RESCUE 8. How many out there in this emergency group remember the show and can add any details about it. I guess I'm getting old but for the life of me I just can't remember.

Al, I was wrong in my post about Loren Greene playing one of the Rescuefiremen, it was Jim Davis remember him Jock Ewing on "DALLAS" on RESCUE 8 he was fireman, Wes Cameron. There were 72 1/2 hour episodes over 2 seasons frrom 1957 to 1960, after that it ran in syndication for over a decade. I have heard you can buy these episodes from season 1 and 2 but have yet to find them out anywhere. Hey Bro. try looking for me down your way if you could or wouldn't mind. I surely would appreciate it.
I will also keep you posted if I find out more about the show. NOW PERK UP!!!! I say, todays a new and rainy day here but at least were upright and taking nourishment.

Best Regards
Bro. Bob

Both movies are terrific but I would have to say that Ladder 49 is my favorite.

Great topic, and your procedures are pretty similar to ours. I would add something about the driver rolling down his/her window before backing to be able to hear verbal warnings from bystanders. I know that the back-up person should have everythi...
