Went in the Navy after HS in 94for DC. First ship was the USS Aubrey Fitch (FFG-34) out of Mayport, FL and I was there to decom her, then went on to comission the USS Harry S Truman (CVN-75). Left the Navy in 99 as a DC2 (SW).

Went to fire school in Madison, WI and got hired on my hometown FD in Green Bay, WI as a FF/paramedic

Lets make this easy, started in the navy in 79 as an HTFA and left 83 as HT2 (SW),
went into the Coast Guard in 83 as a DC2 and left active duty in 95 as a DC1, went into the Coast Guard Reserve in 95 and retired 4/1/2009 as a DCCS. Currently a Firefighter/EMT with the Naval District Washington Fire dept (Co. 28) in Dahlgren VA. Also a life member of the Stafford Vol. FD (Co.2)in Stafford VA. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it....

Hello every one,

Don't hold this against me. I started out as DC and converted to HT in early 70's. When DC came back, I was told I was not qualified and remained HT. After 27 years, retired as HTC. Had more good times than bad. Now a Capt. of and engine company in North Carolina. Been in fire service for 38 years and still love it.

Hello all!

MMC, retired last year. Spent many a lonely hour in DCC waiting for the sounding and security to check in :-)
Capt. Mick Comment by Capt. Mick on May 25, 2009 at 4:44am
I served with the Coast Guard Aux. for five years.
Worked out of The Fire Island Station on LongIsland, NY
I served from 1999 to 2004. When I started it was run by
The Department of Transportation, and when I left it was
The Department Of Homeland Security. It was a great experiance
for me. I was proud to be a part of the Guard.

Thanks for posting this group. I was in the Navy on the USS Gray out of San Diego. I was assigned to the fire team for a SH-2 Sea Sprite helo we had along on a WESTPAC cruise. The USN was how I got started in firefighting.
