Hey, we're not against engine jockeys, we're just all about truckies. We just realize that while the spraying of water and riding around on small apparatus gets a lot of the attention, like the offensive line, we truckies have an important and often unsung role on the fireground, at least in the eyes of those who don't understand.

Welcome to the Truckie Nation and by the way, congratulations to all of us for hitting the 200+ mark!

I respectfully submit my application for membership in this group. I spent my time as a FF on a pump, and my time as a Captain on a pump, but my 4 years on the truck as a Lieut. were, by far, the most interesting.

Truck work takes more thinking and you need more confidence in the abilities of your men ('cause you have to send them off alone sometimes). When I got promoted to Capt and assigned to a Pump, there is no doubt that my time on the truck had made me a better Engineman.

I'm done kissing up. Feel free to accept or reject this retired Engine Captain! I'll await the decision of the committee! :D
