Ah OK- Yeah- up here we use a volleyball sized ball with an eye hook through the rope in place of your keg.
Same as your gig- was popular in the 1980's, kinda fell by the side over the years. Here and there competitions have resurfaced.

- hey for the guys and girls in my area just so you know i just received the paperwork for idlewild battle that time already maybe we can do a little better this year without any scuffles lol

- Sean i am not sure what water ball is but battle of the barrel is a competition between two teams of firefighters. There is an empty keg of beer on a rig hanging on a cable with two stops at each end each team has a hose line (100 ft) with a straight bore nozzle and the goal is to advance the barrel to the opposite end which is a pin. There are numerous rules and regs everyone is different but the idea is the same. It use to be huge twenty years or so ago around here in pa but kinda fell to the waste side but we are bringing it back strong. Its getting pretty popular around here now.
