From MVA's involving full horse trailers, cattle stuck in pits, dogs and cats stuck in house fires, and MVA vs PED where the PED had a dog. Any situation we face could involve an animal. And think about it. You arrive on scene of a fully involved housefire, what is it the people scream at you to save? Their family members are number 1. Their animals are number 2. Does your department even think of that? Its honestly not something we can justify putting our lives in danger for, or is it? What do you have in place? I built a response card that my dispatch uses now, that involves veterinarians and heavy equipment if needed. My dept. has a list of emergency vet hospitals, just in case. Any thoughts?
