Video: Fire Breaks Out on Philadelphia Train During Commute

PHILADELPHIA - Fire has prompted the evacuation of a Philadelphia commuter train crowded by a transit strike, but officials say no injuries have been reported.
Thirty-seven-year-old paralegal Laura Bryans says the train started to smoke at the Overbrook station and conductors told everyone to move to the rear cars. The train was eventually halted and evacuated at 55th Street and Lancaster Avenue, stranding commuters, but SEPTA spokesman Gary Fairfax says no injuries have been reported.

I am glad all passengers and crew were un hurt but I am going to MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON GAME just a bit. From what I viewed of the film of the fire several comments; Where are the air paks of the firefighters on the roof of the passenger(rail) car? Although outdoors that smoke, seen and unseen, still contains byproducts of burning plastics, etc. Initially it appears that ladder at the end of the car is too vertical, I was taught that a ladder should be at an angle where the firefighter's body and arms form a rt. angle, if at all possible, so to lessen the stain on the body and chance of a fall. I also note what appears to be a sizeable leak where 2 hoses are connected, Bad connection or bad connection and missing gasket? Maybe there are more problems that I did NOT view and NO DOUBT there have been times, and will be, that someone will point out where I have or am doing things wrong. So far though in 49 years as a volunteer I don't think I've done too many. If my observations are correct, come on guys and gals rethink what it means to live and not get injuried.
