Los Angeles area media outlets are reporting that four brush fires that have been burning in the Eagle Rock/Glendale area are suspicious. At the intersection of two busy freeways (the 134 and the 2), this area is part City of Los Angeles and part City of Glendale, which I assume means fire departments from both cities are working to fight the blazes. I worry about fires in this area, because the canyon hasn't burned for awhile so it's covered with a pretty dense groundcover.

Read about two firefighters who were injured while putting a house fire in the Glendale area : http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/util/prestitialShell?ad=3&goback=ht...

Good luck to everyone working to keep the residents (and those in the nearby hospital) safe!

Jennifer, yes, this area is covered by both departments (LAFD and Glendale). I know the area somewhat, as I was born in Glendale and lived in Eagle Rock for a few years. My uncle worked in that district before he retired, and his oldest son is still working in the Eagle Rock/Highland Park area at Station 12. He has 28 years in himself.

and Dust....John Orr is in prison where he belongs...hopefully we don't have another one like him

Ken,

I've read Fire Lover and other info. on John Orr and agree he is where he belongs though he maintains his innocence. It's just these fires reminded me of him right away. Strangely enough there is a song about him.

Do you experience violence or aggression when attending calls? Here in Dublin, Ireland it is a regular occurrence in certain areas of the city. Sometimes they will set a car fire just to lure us in and then throw stones & bottles at the crew. Mind...
