PA Firefighter Collapses; Dies

(AP) STRATTANVILLE, Pa.

A northwestern Pennsylvania firefighter has died fighting a fire.

Strattanville Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Bill Stroup says the 27-year-old firefighter complained to another firefighter of a headache then collapsed early Monday morning. The man, whose identity wasn't released, was pronounced dead at Clarion Hospital.

An autopsy has been ordered. Stroup says it was the company's first death in the line of duty in the department's 71 years.

Firefighters were battling a debris fire at the site of recently demolished house in Strattanville, about 60 miles northeast of Pittsburgh.
