About 'Trauma' from NBC.com/trauma

Like an adrenaline shot to the heart, Trauma is an intense, action-packed look at one of the most dangerous medical professions in the world: first responder paramedics. When emergencies occur, the trauma team from San Francisco General is first on the scene, traveling by land, by sea or by air to reach their victims in time. From the heights of the Transamerica Pyramid to the depths of the S.F. Bay, our heroes must face the most extreme conditions to save lives, and give meaning to their own existence in the process.

From executive producer Peter Berg (Friday Night Lights), Trauma is the first high-octane medical franchise to live exclusively in the field, where the real action is.

Cool!!! Another chance to play "Find the mistakes!!!"

And I can't wait until the next time I walk up on one of the EMT's cleaning body fluids out of the back of the rig to ask "How's that high-octane medical franchise coming along?"

And it is not my intention to rile any of the EMT's out there, but "one of the most dangerous medical professions in the world"?

I would think it ranks somewhere below White Shark Orthodontist and Elephant Proctologist. Oh, and Madonna's Gynocologist.

I think you're looking way too far into this. Life doesn't always have to be about "finding the mistakes". Live a little and enjoy a TV show...

You mention this... "one of the most dangerous medical professions in the world"?

I hate to break it to ya... but being in EMS is ONE of the most dangerous medical professions. I'd put Radiolody Technician next (for obvious reasons). Even more dangerous yet is being a flight medic or nurse, with all the recent tragic accidents, I believe it's far more dangerous than you think. It takes someone with guts and a SERIOUS love for helping people to climb into an aluminum can with rotors and not even worry about crashing.

It's about time the EMS has a show for THEM At about the 2:10 left mark in the first trailer... that clip explains why soo many of us do this job!

I lost 3 people I knew very well in late 2008 in an aeromedical helicopter crash... here in Illinois.

Remember... if you focus on living your life to be correct (Strung Too Tight), then you'll forget to live.

Be Safe - Be Smart

I think most people are not going to catch the medical gliches. It looks like it will be exciting enough
to keep people glued to the TV. I doubt if it will hurt EMS. Did "Rescue Me" do any damage to the FD???

"Rescue Me" just got old... nothing exciting in it anymore.

After watching the season premier I'm dissappointed. I give it a 5 and hope the next one is better. I guess every series has to have a hot shot with a dangerous attitude.
New original plots are hard to come by I guess.

I do have to say that the clip makes it look as if the show will be a good one. I am a firefighter/EMT and can't wait to see what this show will have to offer. I think what is meant by "the most dangerous medical profession" is due to how EMT's or any type of first responder be it firefighter, EMT, paramedic, whoever, that is the first person in on a scene, has to deal with more dangers from the patient, patient's friends or family at the scene, and the scene in general, than do staff in a hospital. We're the ones sitting in the cars with sparks coming at us while extricating a critical patient from a wreck. We're the ones trying to stop the bleeding from patients who are unconscious that for all we know have an incurable disease. We're the ones running into the burning buildings to get the people out to safety. So in my eyes, yes, EMS is one of the most dangerous medical professions in the world. The hospital is a lot more of a controlled environment, we are not as lucky in the field. Although I do have to agree with the Elephant Proctologist.....that's just a scary thought alltogether lol

I just hope they do the "Job" justice!

Finally a show better than Rescue Me! Finally a show that shows the true "Heart" of Fire Service and EMS.

I will have to check out the show to see if I like...

i agree finally a show thats farfetched to the people who dont have a clue about what we do and how crazy it really is in the field day to day, nice

well i wish they had a show like this with just firefighting. kinda like third watch was when it was on the air but just about firefighters

it does need both fire and ems,no cops, they get enough attention, us two work together so close anymore we need a show that portrays that (us fire and ems).

We all know it's the getting there and back that is dangerous for all of us responders....looks intense, I'm going to watch!

Hey Kali, I'm not trying to put you down. I know how you like to get on here and put others down. That wasn't the point. The point is that not all of us have the stickers and all the pretty little lights. The boy just had a complaint and wanted to...
