I just found out today from my Captain that i'm being called out to give a deposition on a rescue call that happened two years ago and i'm freaking out. Any advice?

I have read over all of the answers to your question. They are all good answers but, if you have personal notes or anything like that do not take them with you. Read over them and leave them behind. Most courts and some lawyers will want copies of your notes and they can take them if you are in the courtroom, and they can use anything written in your note pad including other runs or comments you may have written. If you need to take your notes then copy just the pages that pertain to the run and nothing else. They should have already requested a copy of your report so be sure and read over it before you go. Remember HIPPA if you carry any reports with you to make sure they are secure from prying eyes.
Be calm and you will do good

That's a good one Ed! I forgot all about HIPPA and them taking your reports and paper work you walk in with. They will definately already have your run form if they needed it.

I have given depositions before. You need to remember to review your reports. Documentation on your part is very important on every call. Answer the questions asked and do not start to ramble on. If you have documented what you did and acted according to your procedures or protocols you will be fine. Listen to the question and make sure you understand before you answer.

Good Luck

I myself got called for one also for a accident that involved a truck and a state prison bus..
I meant with the defendant's lawyer.
We went thru the whole case and what I remembered from the accident.
We reviewed the call sheet.
Don't guess on the stand and tell what you did and only what you did and saw.
Remember you were doing your job that day you did nothing wrong.
Most likley this is over money and injuries.
Good luck you will be ok
