Okay... how are they going to hear about fires and non-emergency announcements? We issue pagers to our Juniors for this very purpose.

i am behind you a hundred percent. that is true , i know most of the jr's on the partment i am with have ether a radio or a pager. and some of our parents are on it as well. so that makes it very easy for us two go on.

Seriously are you just trying to start an argument?

Why shouldn't they go on calls? I know as a cadet on my 1st call I helped refilling air bottles, running tools, fans, freeing up a fully trained FF

i think this has been on here like 3 times before. check the archives. I learned most of the stuff i know on calls, for some reason it really doesn't make sense until i use it in a real life thing then its like the light bulb comes on.

Well its like raising a child, if you dont let them do anything, they aint gona learn nothing. US jr.'s need to get our toes wet beacuase if we dont, when we go on our first call were gona have problly have the largest adrenaline rush and just panic. I think its a good ideas that the department im at lets us have them. like other people stated its a good way to learn.

I agree in thus jr.'s should indeed be allowed to go on calls, any one can get hurt at the location but just the same there are so many things a jr. can do on location to assists the FF. Get equipment from the truck, and so fourth the list continues. And the best way to learn is to be there at the present time, let em get there feet wet so that when the times comes than they are just as ready as the FF them self.
