I was just wondering how many departments had calls related to fireworks.
Whether it was due to fire caused by fireworks, or injuries while using fireworks.
If you didn't have any calls related to firework, I would also like to hear that as well.

Hey Billy, Good to hear from you again, and for adding to the discussion.
I would think you got there just in time. I glad to hear everything turned out
for the home owners, I guess they won't be lighting fireworks off in the future.
Be well, and stay safe out there Brother.

We responded as mutual aid for a neighboring community on the fourth. Their fireworks program takes place in a large local park and as it was concluding, one of the larger bridges across a pond collapsed with around 50 people walking on it. Luckily the pond was not very deep but everyone that was on the bridge did end up in the water. No serious injuries/deaths occured. Approx. 35 people were taken to local hospitals.

That incident made the news out here. I hope you were smiling for the cameras.

I heard about that as well. Good job everyone involved, including bystanders who helped out. Amazing no one was seriously hurt or even killed after I saw some of the pictures.

No fireworks related calls here, had a rollover mva though and a medical. Neighboring department had a fireworks related call though, some dude was attempting to make some homemade ones in his basement, blew off his hand, caught the house on fire, also structural damage from the explosion.

I was on the firing line, assisting at a neighboring departments annual public display, so do you want to count the 20 or so small (less than 1' diameter) fires which were started on site? Otherwise we had 5 actual and 4 mutual aid responses for grass fires which were fireworks related. Several other nearby departments were out of apparatus because of all their fires. The last measurable rainfall in this area occurred on May 26.

Hey Chris, It's good to here from you again, and adding to the discussion.
I happen to see that on the news on TV. Not good, sorry to see something like that
happen. Just goes to show you, even the experts that handle fireworks sometime can
make a mistake. Thanks again, stay safe Brother.

We had a fireworks call but not on the 4th of July... On July 5th, we were called to a commerical vehicle. It was a trailer used for fireworks that was smoldering.
