I am looking into an associate’s degree in Emergency Management. I have 13 years in the fire service as a volunteer, 5 as a career firefighter, and 5 years on our state’s regional USAR team.

Can anyone suggest a college that offers this degree online, and any places I should stay away from?

Thanks,
Doug

Never heard of an AS degree in EM... only Fire Science, Safety or Investigation

I did some looking online. FEMA has a list of schools that offer degrees in EM (training.fema.gov/EMIweb/edu/collegelist/) in both online and online/classroom formats. I am just concerned how many of them are "quality" schools and not one that is not reconized by anybody. I hate to spend all that time and money to find I have nothing to show for it.

I have been looking into the American Public University (APU), which is part of the American Public University System. They claim to be an all online university that is nationally accredited.

Has anyone had any experience with them? It seems to easy to be true.

Thanks,
Doug

Aside from all the other legal stuff....the question was about an "in-house penalty". Considering hitting a curb= pop for the crew leaving the door up= pop for crew not knowing where something is located= pop for the crew forgetting to turn the l...
