I know the cell phone has become an important asset in life and most people think they couldn't live without it. I just wish these people could wear our shoes for a day and go to some of these wreck scenes where the driver was talking or texting on their cell phone. I know this will probably piss some of you off but I wish the law would outlaw the use of cell phones while your driving. It's pretty simple, your driving a vehicle, not a phone booth.
As a driver-pump operator we are not allowed to even have one in the truck. The driver don't even use the radio. That's the co-pilots job, the driver concentrates on driving. I'm just wondering how many fatalities it's going to take for this to stop.

Yes I did see that. That is really a remarkable dramanization( I hope thats how you spell that big word). I would really like for every driver out there to see it.

"I've ridden with a person who, while driving would turn her head to look at the person in the back seat that she was talking too!"

Damnthing, how is it that you were in a car my wife was driving? Really, you've got some explaining to do!

DT's right about this one, there are plenty of things people do; other then talking on phones, that endanger not only themselves but other motorists while driving... unfortunatly, I'm as guilty as the next person. I wont txt on my phone when driving but I do talk on it, I eat in the car sometimes, play with the Ipod, etc... What will it take for people to realize how dangerous it is? Ummm.... thats a real good question. Look at me, I've been to plenty of carwrecks with teens behind the wheel where they admit that they were talking or txting at the time of the accident and I still do it. Honestly, I dont think people will ever realize how dangerous it is, and even if they do; its not going to stop them from continuing that behavior.

Thanks for your input guys. We run a butt load of mva's here and more times than not it's something or things of all the things you have mentioned. But it seems the cell phone is beginning to take an outstanding lead in the cause of accidents. And all to many times it has ended tragically.

It already is illegal here in Australia.

From memory, it's an on-the-spot fine somewhere in the vicinity of $165.00 and a loss of 3 demerit points off your licence.

The Peoples Republic of Chicago has outlawed talking on a cell phone while driving unless you're using a hands free device. Makes me wonder how many Chicago Aldermen own stock in the companies that produce hands free devices!

I totally agree. They should see some of the things that we see and that would change their minds about using cellphones while driving.

Yeah thats a really good clip. I just wish more people could see it and maybe, just maybe, think about it before using the cell phone while driving

NJ has a no cell phone law, if you use the phone it must be a hands free device.

Without a doubt I would. We actually did the same thing. The chiefs wife was diagnosed with breast cancer,so we decided to make some shirts in the usual navy blue with a pink maltese cross, and pink lettering on the back, then added the ribbon on th...
