I'm a USCG licensed Master Mariner, which is the fancy full flavored term for a Captain.

I am a vollie. My full time job is a secretary in shipping/receiving of a hospital. I am a support firefighter and EMT-I. Next year I will be going back to school to get my associate degree in EMS. I am also a Child safety seat tech and a cpr instructor. Good luck in your job change. Take care and be safe out there Leanne

Hey Rookie, This is my first time in the kitchen here, I just joined two nights ago. I used to work in a freight department in the winter besides volunteering in the local fire department. In the summer I am an engine boss on a type 6 wildland rig. I am unemployed this winter for the first time in 25 years! I am rekindling some old flames since I have so much time on my hands, things I haven't done in a long time that I used to love like writing poetry, sculpting, drawing, taking a walk for enjoyment, not just exercise...I think I saw your name in another discussion I joined, did I read you were from Australia or New Zealand in there? I hear wildland is a whole different game there. Wendy

Iam now a paid conservation employee (FF) for the summer with DEC (wildland) in Australia... Iam from Australia and yes mate bush fires here are massive and we get lots of them every year. I hope u enjoy the site :)

Retired Fire Chief. I work for a company hiring firefighters to do side jobs swapping put TVs all across the US and Canada. It's great! They make money and I get to BS with firefighters again. N ot a bad job, and I also work as a medic part-time.

Im a graphics artist during the day designing and lettering police, ems, and fire vehicles with decals and stripe. The rest of the time im a volly at 2 houses.

Vol. Asst chief in upstate NY, Full time job I work the third shift as a supervisor in a iron foundry where we cast dryer shells (Rollers) for paper manufacturing machines.
