Being a volunteer, my full time occupation that pays the bills is I'm a roofer. Although I love being up high where everyone for the most part leaves you alone, I still am an engine guy. Go figure....

I'm a permo and I work as the state US&R director as well, plus writing, teaching, and consulting. Someone said it best once: "Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't teach, evaluate."

I added, "Those who can't evaluate, consult."

My most important job, however, is being a dad, which I enjoy. We'll see if the enjoyment continues though.

My full time occupation is Pastor. Because of that, I do all the normal fire and rescue stuff with my department (if you can call what we do normal) :) in addition to being the chaplain. A couple times I've finished up with extrication and been thrust right into an agitated family member. I love it though and I hope I can continue for a long time.

Roofing is awesome for me. You get a change of scenery often, plus the turnaround of money is rather quick. Unfortunately (or fortunately for my boss) we landed a HUGE private dwelling with over 86 squares of Cedar shingle roofing to apply. I'm not sure how many square feet the house is, can only give you that it is 8,600 square feet of roof. I will try and grab some photos when we get closer to completion. This house would be a challange to vent, its all roof and broke up in many segments. Next month we are putting down a slate roof on a chapel, another "fun" roof.

Most roof cladding here in Aus is either cement tiles or colour bond roof sheeting.. We don't use shingles at all...
Here in WA 90% of houses are double brick walls with stick roof construction... Over east they use mainly framed construction with brick veneer...
Our last roof was a 4 story building. West was the beach north was an estuary mouth East was the Estuary and south was a golf course then bush land... Awesome scenery, loved that one...

My full time job is selling emergency vehicle lighting to firefighters, ems personnel and police officers. We sell everything from lightbars, led lights, strobe beacons, power supplies, traffic arrows, and even funeral lighting. I also clean the fire house on the side to help pay off my college loans. I enrolled myself back into college so I can get my bachelors degree in nursing.

I am an electrical engineer, nothing to do at all with fire service. Well, actually I DO listen in to fire channel 1 while I sit at my desk at work.

Doesn't being a snoop of the fire radio count for something? Hell I would have added it to my job list
