My one department uses Pierces, and the other one I am with has 1 Pierce and a Spartan.

Well, in this area, Pierce is big with a larger department in our area. Being a smaller department we always had to go with commercial pumpers. We have 2 E-Ones and a KME w/International cabs. We just recently bought a 2006 Rosenbauer custom Rescue/Pumper and are totally amazed with this piece of apparatus. It is our first custom cab and we will not go back to commercial. We looked at Pierce, E-One, American LaFrance, Sterling and Marion along with Rosenbauer. Ferrara is gaining poppularity in our region also.

My profile pic is with an 89 Pierce Lance that was donated to us from Milford CT after Katrina. It was the best we'd had, and that includes our "new" stuff from E-One.

My Seagrave and ALF experience dates back to the 70's, so I really can't make an informed decision.

Our department purchased a custom built 75' Ladder Truck in 2002. Its a Marion/Spartan and we are extremely happy with it. It is the pride of our department and the envy of many around us. We travel 50-75 miles for mutual aid calls with this. Partially because the larger towns in the area refuse to leave their districts for another city and we are the closest around. They sent us video of them actually putting our truck together...I believe we have over 12 hours of footage. They were very genourous to us with not only promotional items (hats, coats, calendars, koozies, mugs, thermos'), but were very easy to work with during the building process and wanted to make SURE that this truck was built the way we wanted it. I would suggest to ANYONE considering the purchase of a new truck to contact their local rep and if close enough to the area, take your guys that are going to be using it and take a tour of their facilities and meet their people. You won't be displeased.
