LOL! Sister Mary whatshername and her cohorts would beat the tar out of me if I didn't spel things corecktly. They did enuf beeting as it was.

I'm wondering if some people are skilled at touch-typing and type as they think, but don't go back and read what they have set down.

Oh my gosh .... this thread is killing me! I too have a little hang up about grammar and spelling, and don't forget punctuation! I guess that goes with grammar.
Kids these a days have a challenge, I think, due to the computer use and computer and texting shortcuts. I even get a bit sloppy myself at times on the computer. :-o

So, what do you think about people who "could care less", when they actually mean "couldn't care less"??? lol

Yes! Someone else who catches that, too! I find it a bit odd when someone claims they "could care less". I imagine they never stopped and thought about the implications of what they're saying.

I, too, could care less about things I'm passionate about!

"I could care less" is an evolution of the phrase "as if I could care less."

That's how idioms happen... speakers contract, rearrange, or use in unexpected ways older expressions, so that their apparent meaning is quite different than their actual meaning.

I know this is old, I know that in all likelihood this post won't be read by anyone else, but I don't care I must add my reply!

YES - "I could care less" - do they know what they're saying? As with a bumper sticker I saw a few years ago"
"If You Ain't a Vanner You Ain't Sh*t". Which means what? If you are, you are? I couldn't help but laugh at the poor ignorant guy driving the car (yes, it WAS a van).

PS I used the '*' instead of an 'i' just in case of site censorship...
