NEW YORK - Three people are dead after a house fire in Queens.

The blaze in a two-story home the borough's Woodside section was reported to firefighters at about 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Several other victims were hospitalized.

Fire Department officials say the dead were all found in a basement apartment in the home.

Authorities say the building had been illegally divided into several apartments that didn't meet city codes.
