Responders, Officials Converge on the Hill to Fight for Healthcare for 9/11 Responders

The attacks on the World Trade Center nearly 7 years ago continue to claim casualties, as firefighters and others who worked rescue and recovery, construction and law enforcement at Ground Zero are developing serious and sometimes fatal diseases. A handful of government officials, agencies and nonprofit associations are fighting to get help for these workers—but it seems they’re fighting an uphill battle.
