In 1994 the City of Passaic fire department had an incident with regards to having their PPE exposed to powdered chlorine bleach. The officer in charge at the time came to Trilex and had asked us if we could clean their equipment. The fire department had a cleaning chemical that they provided to Trilex that was used in the process. From there David Kornhauser, President of Trilex took it upon himself to investigate the future possiblities of doing this type of work for other fire departments and as luck would have it the F.D.N.Y. was in the process of looking for such a cleaner like Trilex and through some preliminary trials Trilex was awarded the contract for all of their PPE for over 15 years. In that same time frame Trilex has had many departments both small and large and from all parts of the U.S. Trilex has a list of over 900 current fire departments and as many individuals in our database and we continue to grow thanks to your confidence in our services. As of late all cleaners who wish to be recognized as a certified cleaning and repair facility for PPE must go through a third party certification under the guidelines of NFPA 1851 in which Trilex is completing at this time and we will update you on the process, but in the meantime please be assured that the work we do meets the quality and standards that you require to keep your PPE in proper working condition for your safety.
